Biomarker

Indicator (molecular, biochemical, cellular or organism) signaling an event or condition in a biological system or sample and giving a measure of exposure to, effect of, or susceptibility to, a xenobiotic. Biochemical, physiological, and histological changes in organisms that can be used to estimate either exposure to chemicals or the effects of exposure to chemicals.
